STEVENSVILLE, Md. — A Marine Corps veteran who lost both legs in combat is nearing the end of a cross-country, hand-cycling trip.
Maryland State Police say they’ll help escort Toran Gaal over the Bay Bridge as he heads into Annapolis Friday.
He plans to end his two-month trip from Julian, California, to Arlington, Virginia, Sunday by placing a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.
The Oakhurst, California, native was wounded by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan in 2011.
